About Emirates Airlines

Emirates Airline, a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, is the largest airline in the Middle East. It is currently ranked fourth largest airline in the world by scheduled revenue passenger-kilometers flown and second-largest in terms of freight tonne kilometers flown.

Established in March 1985, the government-owned airline operates over 3,600 flights weekly, from the Dubai International Airport (Terminal 3) to more than 154 cities in 81 countries across six continents. It is not a member of any of the three global airline alliances – Oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance.

Emirates is one of the few airlines to operate an all-wide-body aircraft fleet, and currently operates a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft. It also has the world's largest fleets of the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A380. Cargo activities are handled by Emirates SkyCargo.

Emirates has codesharing agreements with over 20 airlines including Air Mauritius, Bangkok Airway, Japan Airlines, JetBlue, Qantas, South African Airways, TAP Portugal, Thai Airways and WestJet. The airline’s frequent-flyer program - Emirates Skywards, had over 16 million members as of 2016.

Launched in the year 2000, Skywards uses two separate points systems – Skywards Miles and Tier Miles. There are four tiers of membership – Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
