United Airlines Inc. is one of America’s leading airlines. Founded in 1926 and frequently referred to as just “United”, the airline is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. United is a founding member of Star Alliance, the world's largest global airline alliance. Regional service is operated by independent carriers under the brand name United Express. United flies to over 230 domestic and 112 international destinations. During 2010, the airline started operating scheduled flights to its first African destination, being to Accra, Ghana. This service was extended to Lagos, Nigeria, during the same year. The airline flies to scores of key international destinations from Washington, including Tokyo, Japan, the United Kingdom, China, Germany and Qatar and Bahrain in the UAE.

United Club

The United Club is the airline lounge associated with United Airlines and United Express carriers. United Clubs feature snacks, hot foods, beverages, and many areas to relax. The United Club replaced the former United Red Carpet Club and Continental Airlines Presidents Club prior to the merger with Continental.

As at 2016, United Airlines operates a fleet of over 700 mainline aircraft. The bulk of the fleet consists of Boeings, with the except of 56 Airbus A319-100s, 97 Airbus A320-200s and 35 Airbus A350-100s. The airline was also the first in the US to deploy a Boeing 787 Dreamliner along an international flight route.
