Located West of Yamoussoukro, the country's capital; Daloa is a city in the Haut-Sassandra region, western Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire). It is the seat of the Sassandra-Marahoué District, home to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Daloa - Cathédrale du Christ-Roi and several Protestant churches.
Also, it is both the seat and a sub-prefecture of the Daloa Department. The city is one of the biggest in the country and is heralded as a local trade centre for rice, cassava, yams, bananas, and cotton and has several sawmills. It is also the chief collecting point for a forest region that sends coffee, cocoa, kola nuts, and timber (sipo) to the coast for export.
Ebony and ivory sculptures are exhibited at the local craft centre. Daloa is served by Daloa Airport and nearby is the Marahoué Park, a 250,000-acre (101,000-hectare) wildlife reserve.
