Bordered by the cities of Dubai and Ajman and over a hundred mile from the capital, Abu Dhabi; Sharjah is the third largest and the only Emirate to have land on both the Persian Gulf coast and Gulf of Oman. Asides the main city of Sharjah, the enclaves of Dibba Al Hisn, Khor Fakkan and Kalba on the eastern coast also belong to the emirate.
Although visitors’ attention falls mainly on Dubai and then, Abu Dhabi; Sharjah is heralded as the nation’s capital as it retains its strong Arabic culture and heritage. It is the third most populous city in the UAE and the only emirate that is 'dry' (ie no alcohol is generally not available).

The water canal offers visitors unparalleled entertainment option while the Etisalat Eye of the Emirates Wheel offers panoramic view of the city and neighbouring areas.
