Beipanjiang Bridge: World’s Highest Bridge Opens In China

The world’s highest bridge has officially opened to traffic in southwest China. Stretching over a 1,854 feet above the Beipan River – part of the great Pearl River basin, the Beipanjiang Bridge sits a few miles away from the Guangzhao Dam and has a height equivalent to that of a 200-storey building.

Connecting the mountainous provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou, the four-lane Beipanjiang Bridge costs approximately 1 Billion Yuan ($146.7 million) to build and took three years to be completed.
